Step 1. Log into Blogger and go to “Dashboard.”

Step 2. Select “Settings.” Then select “Comments.”

Step 3. Adjust the comments settings, including whether comments are public or private, who can leave them and whether or not you want to moderate them.

Step 4. Once all of your settings are adjusted, click “Save Settings.”

Step 5. Republish your blog.

This procedure is fairly simple. All you have to do is copy a piece of code and add it on your blog. Now when ever some one will come with the intention to steal your content and would press the right click mouse button. BANG!! He’ll get a function disabled message, thus discouraging him from stealing your content easily.

Disable Right Click Mouse Button

Log-in to your Blogger’s  Dashboard, go to “Layout“, click “Add Gadget”, scroll down a little and look for “HTML/JavaScript”. A new window will pop out, copy paste the code shown below onto the HTML/JavaScript text box;

Save  the widget and close it. You’r Done! Now to see if it actually works or not; open your homepage (or any other page) and use the right click mouse button. You’ll be prompted with a ‘function disable‘ message.

Change Prompt Message

You can even change the message to suit your needs. In order to change the message, you will have to edit the above code. Follow the steps shown below:

1. Locate the sixth line from the beginning, namely;

var message=”Function Disabled!”;

Notice that it outputs a  ”Function Disabled!” message;  Now simply change the message to what ever you feel like. The final result would be;

var message=”The Right Mouse Function is Disabled!”;

Save the widget and preview the changes you have made.

PS: Although there is a way around this trick, but since its hard to implement, the scrapper will have no choice but to leave your blog unharmed.

There are several other codes too, though the issue appears to be the same for all. In this tutorial we’ll teach you how to get rid of these error(s) once and for all. For beginners, we have added a video that can be viewed at the end of this post.

Here is what you have to do in order to get rid of this message permanently.

Step #1. Download the template from BloggerTemplatesBlog (optional),

Step #2. Get the XML opened in a text file or in any of your text editors, such as notepad/wordpad etc,

Step #3. Use “Ctrl + F” key combination; (make sure the XML is open and in the active window) and in the search box type “Widget id”,

Step #4. In every widget line it will display something like this : widget id=’example1′, replace that number with any other one of your choice.

For instance, if the widget id has a value of 1, change it to anything like 11 or 10 etc.

This is what the outcome will look like: widget id=’example22′

Step #5. Repeat the process for the rest of the widgets in the XML file. Save when finished.

Step #6. Now log-in to your Blogger’s Dashboard, then go to Layout –> Edit HTML –> Choose File and hit the upload button,

Voila! The error has been fixed.

Although I love blogger more than any other blogging platform, but there are some things that still lack in Blogger despite being used by millions of users world wide. One of those things is its inability to integrate Social Bookmarking Buttons. However its not that hard to add social bookmarking buttons manually. In this tutorial I will teach you how to integrate social bookmarking buttons on your blogger’s blog.

Step #1. Goto your Blogger Template -> Edit Html ‘Expand widget templates’ and replace;

with the following code below;

<head><script src=’http://blogergadgets.googlecode.com/files/simpletricks.js’> </script>

Step #2. Now comes the hard part, you’ll have to find the code similar to the one below;

<p class=’post-footer-line’>

Note: The above line can vary from template to template, make sure you search your template code throughly.

Step #3. Once you have found it, follow the link and copy paste the social bookmarking code;

Step #4. Place this code that you have just copied, below the line that you found in step #2.

Step #5. Save your template for changes to take place.

Step 3. It’s best that your backup your old template (just in case any thing goes wrong), by clicking on the “DOWNLOAD FULL TEMPLATE” link and then save the file to your hard disk drive.

Step 4. Once you have created a back up, upload the new template by clicking the ‘Choose File’ button. Select the file’s source and click ‘UPLOAD’,

Step 5. After the upload is complete , you can either which to preview your template or click on the ‘SAVE TEMPLATE’ button to start using it.
